  43. I had a similar problem using a MultiTech MT932 modem.  If I turned the spoofing off the problem
  44. went away.  However, with spoofing off, I also lost my throughput.  I was calling UUNET 
  45. where I had a UUCP connection.  Everything was fine with UUNET used the PEP protocal 
  46. modems.  When they switched to V.34 my throughput dropped so I tried UUCP spoofing
  47. which dropped character.  I finally gave up do to lack of time.

  49. Pior to my "Character dropping" problem with spoofing I had problems with MultiTech's
  50. spoofing.  I have connected two MultiTech modems with spoofing built in (Not the ZDX's which
  51. do not featur spoofing) and seen no speed increase when spoofing was  enabled on both
  52. modems.  Quit frankly, I don't think they got it right.  If anyone has gotten UUCP spoofing to work
  53. and actually measurably increase speed, would you please let me know.  Please email

  56. Over time I have seen more and more such compatibilty problems with MultTech modems.
  57. I selected MultiTech as our house brand some years back.  We have since bought hundreds
  58. of them.  I am beginning to question the correctness of my selection.  However, I have seen
  59. even the mighty Hayes modem to contain problem bugs.
