- I had a similar problem using a MultiTech MT932 modem. If I turned the spoofing off the problem
- went away. However, with spoofing off, I also lost my throughput. I was calling UUNET
- where I had a UUCP connection. Everything was fine with UUNET used the PEP protocal
- modems. When they switched to V.34 my throughput dropped so I tried UUCP spoofing
- which dropped character. I finally gave up do to lack of time.
-
- Pior to my "Character dropping" problem with spoofing I had problems with MultiTech's
- spoofing. I have connected two MultiTech modems with spoofing built in (Not the ZDX's which
- do not featur spoofing) and seen no speed increase when spoofing was enabled on both
- modems. Quit frankly, I don't think they got it right. If anyone has gotten UUCP spoofing to work
- and actually measurably increase speed, would you please let me know. Please email
- me directly. Thanks
-
- Over time I have seen more and more such compatibilty problems with MultTech modems.
- I selected MultiTech as our house brand some years back. We have since bought hundreds
- of them. I am beginning to question the correctness of my selection. However, I have seen
- even the mighty Hayes modem to contain problem bugs.
-
- Anyway you are not alone with your problem. Otherwise, I think that I was not of much help.
- Sorry.
